Civil engineering is focused on the infrastructure that supports a society. It is a broad discipline that has a history rooted in the design and construction of large-scale projects that benefit the public, and that plays a critical role in planning for and responding to the effects of climate change on our natural and built environment. The Department of Civil Engineering will prepare you to tackle those challenges using a combination of engineering fundamentals, design thinking, and decision making.
Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering
Our program has been designed to develop strong analytical, technical and professional skills while thinking of a triple bottom line – economy, environment and society – when making decisions. Our students learn how to apply those skills to practical, complex problems in Structural, Geotechnical, Hydrotechnical and Environmental Engineering to prepare them for a wide range of possible next steps in their careers.
